APRN Organization Resources
The largest organization representing nurse practitioners in America is the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Not only does the policy office monitor legislative issues on a federal level, there is also a state level monitoring process. It is possible to see the state policy priorities(PDF).
The nurse anesthetist is represented nationally by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. This organization also tracks state government issues. There is information available about anesthesia practice linked through their State Government Affairs site.
Nurse midwives are represented by the American College of Nurse-Midwives. Through the section of their website about state practice environments, it is possible to learn about differences between practice in the different states.
